Job Title: Product Development Engineer

A cutting-edge company in the additive manufacturing sector, specializing in advanced technologies and materials to enhance operations within various industrial sectors, is seeking a driven and talented Product Development Engineer. This person would join an entrepreneurial team focused on developing innovative additive manufacturing solutions for industrial businesses. The role will involve close collaboration with a cross-functional team to lead the design, optimization, and testing of products using a variety of 3D printing technologies, including both polymers and metals. A focus on execution, innovation, and teamwork will be critical to success in this position.
Job Duties:
- Lead the design, optimization, and testing of product solutions, addressing key aspects such as product attributes, timelines, quality, cost-effectiveness, and unique specifications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including materials scientists, process engineers, operating technicians, quality control, sales and marketing, and other stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures to efficiently and cost-effectively build products.
- Provide clear communication on project budgets, status, personnel, and resource needs to ensure alignment with procedural standards and project feasibility.
- Promote continuous improvement while adhering to established policies and procedures, including 5S standards (cleanliness of the work area), safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- Extensive knowledge of additive manufacturing concepts and principles.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) is preferred.
Competencies / Skills:
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead effectively through influence.
- Proficiency in CAD design, advanced solid modeling, drawing creation, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
