This role offers a unique opportunity for career advancement in sales management within the commercial HVAC sector. The Southeastern Regional Sales Manager, working from a home office, will focus on maximizing sales in their territory through two primary channels: direct sales to high-profile OEMs and engineering firms, and managing a network of sales employees and third-party representatives/distributors.
With steady regional growth, the position involves representing electro-mechanical components that drive advances in the commercial building automation marketplace. Position Summary:
- Increase interest in commercial HVAC products to boost total sales in the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with HVAC controls contractors and potential customers through various communication methods.
- Educate customers on product offerings through presentations, meetings, and application discussions.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and propose viable solutions.
- Generate and manage inquiries.
- Support inside sales representatives with quote preparation and order processing.
- Identify and track opportunities within the territory.
- Collaborate with customers and outside sales personnel to address issues and develop strategies to successfully close HVAC project opportunities.
- Utilize CRM software as directed, including daily logging of sales meetings and opportunities.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Increase market share and sales volume within the assigned territory.
- Provide technical support and service to customers, troubleshoot problems, and propose viable solutions.
- Track HVAC projects and develop strategies to win project orders, including influencing specifications, identifying bidders, coordinating proposals, and final quotations.
- Provide quotations based on project specifications or customer-provided information.
- Follow up with customers on current quotations and track project opportunities in CRM software.
- Organize and deliver technical presentations and factory tours for customers.
- Prospect for new customers and opportunities.
- Maintain CRM software records of sales meetings and customer contacts.
- Adhere to safety policies when traveling and at customer sites.
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- College degree or 3 – 10 years of applicable commercial HVAC industry experience.
- Experience with control contractors and knowledge of building automation and DDC products.
- Ability to manage the sales territory, including Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Western Tennessee, Alabama, and Arkansas.
- Reside within the sales territory and near a major airport.
- Ability to travel 50-60% of the time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal automobile for sales and service calls.
- Must meet the company’s driver policy requirements, including current auto liability insurance and adherence to safety practices.
- Credit check required as part of the background check.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Friendly and outgoing personality, comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
- High-energy, self-motivated, organized, flexible, technically savvy, and able to work independently with minimal administrative support.
- Attention to detail and perseverance are essential.
Experience Required:
- Commercial HVAC industry experience is mandatory.
