We’re seeking a Quality Engineer II to join our client’s team in Somerset, Wisconsin, supporting advanced manufacturing processes and ensuring world-class product delivery.
This role works closely with operations, engineering, program managers, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality solutions. You’ll lead problem-solving initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and quality system enhancements to help drive performance and reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Provide hands-on quality support to manufacturing operations and champion continuous improvement.
- Lead validation and PPAP activities for new product introductions.
- Partner directly with customers to resolve quality concerns and drive satisfaction.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R activities.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce scrap, improve efficiency, and minimize complaints.
- Author inspection and control plans for incoming and in-process components.
- Oversee Material Review Board activities and non-conforming material disposition.
- Work with suppliers to qualify components and resolve quality issues.
- Perform Capability Analysis (CpK) and troubleshoot non-capable processes.
- Conduct internal and external quality audits.
- Use pFMEA to assess risks and mitigate high-risk processes.
- Mentor junior quality engineers and support employee training initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 8 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, inspection methods, AQL, ISO 9001, or SQF standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, First Article Inspection, and Gage Capability Studies.
- Supplier quality experience and/or Certified Auditor.
- Familiarity with laser processing, welding, or dimensional tolerancing.
