Repair & Calibration Technician (Edison, NJ)

Role overview
Seeking a hands-on Repair & Calibration Technician to repair, calibrate, and adjust a broad range of test and measurement equipment across electrical, flow, pressure, and temperature disciplines. The role is central to delivering high-quality work with rapid turnaround, both in-house and at customer premises when required.
Key responsibilities

Repair & calibrate multi-parameter test and measurement equipment across diverse industries.

Perform on-site calibrations at customer locations, ensuring a professional, customer-focused service.

Diagnose to component level using circuit diagrams; carry out high-quality soldering and fault-finding.

Locate and interpret specifications; produce accurate calibration records and detailed certificates.

Maintain standards & assets: protect the integrity of reference standards and test equipment.

Hit turnaround & quality KPIs while maintaining high throughput.

Keep systems current: enter results and job progress accurately in the service system; provide timely data to the operations/admin team.

Continuously improve test techniques and the calibration/repair portfolio.

Maintain a tidy, well-ordered workspace in line with quality and safety expectations.
Essential competencies

Diploma in electrical technology (or similar) or equivalent, demonstrable experience.

Background in instrumentation, calibration, or electrical/electronic repair.

Proven component-level repair, circuit-diagram literacy, and strong soldering skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office; confident, accurate data entry and report creation.

Solid mathematical ability relevant to measurement and calibration.

Awareness of quality systems/standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025 principles) is advantageous.

Personable, professional, and customer-centric with strong interpersonal skills.

Can-do attitude, willingness to listen, learn, and adapt to new tasks.

Organised and meticulous; able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and KPIs.
Working pattern & travel
-
Based in Edison, New Jersey with travel to customer sites as needed.
