Job Title: Service Engineer (On-Site)
Location: Massachusetts
Salary: $120k
The Service Engineer is responsible for assembling manufacturing equipment, leading and executing preventative maintenance efforts, troubleshooting equipment failures, and developing and implementing technical equipment and process improvements as part of the sustaining engineering team.
Principal Responsibilities
- Assemble proprietary additive manufacturing equipment from start to finish, following drawings and internally developed installation documentation.
- Develop and draft documentation to support future assembly as needed.
- Execute installation qualification (IQ) procedures as required.
- Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process.
- Troubleshoot non-functioning components, including mechanical components, servos, sensors, and control components.
- Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality.
- Address and escalate equipment failures in a timely and accurate manner.
- Proactively apply 5S principles by maintaining a clean and safe work environment, taking necessary action to eliminate safety hazards, and communicating any observed unsafe behaviors.
- Support the production team as needed.
- Lead Operational and Process Qualification efforts as requested.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing variability and support continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Candidates should possess one or a combination of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, or a closely related technical field, with demonstrated experience in assembling and maintaining complex equipment.
- 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing technician role where troubleshooting and equipment installation were primary responsibilities, with a preference for work with automated equipment, web line experience, vision systems, and servos.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field with 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing technician role where troubleshooting and equipment installation were primary responsibilities.
