Job Title: Service Technician
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Salary: $90k
The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, problem-solving, preventative maintenance, service, and repair of CNC machine tools at customer sites and within the company facility. The technician is expected to perform all duties with a high standard of quality, efficiency, and timeliness, while collaborating with team members and contributing to continuous improvement efforts to ensure customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:

Troubleshoots and resolves issues with CNC machine tools.

Performs timely and high-quality installation of machines and tooling.

Conducts preventative maintenance and repair work as assigned with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Maintains strict adherence to all safety standards and procedures.

Trains and instructs both customers and internal team members on installation, service, repair procedures, and operational best practices for both current and new equipment.

Accurately documents service activities using service software, including parts used and repairs completed. Documentation must be submitted the same day, or within 24 hours at the latest.

Collaborates with other team members, internal departments, and external vendors to resolve installation and repair issues.

Actively reviews current practices, identifies opportunities for improvement, and recommends enhancements to equipment, processes, and procedures.

Maintains clear communication with customers, including arrival notifications, progress updates, and check-out procedures.

Pursues ongoing professional development through additional education, training, seminars, and independent study.

Maintains the cleanliness and care of all company-provided tools, equipment, and property.

Assists with various duties and supports other departments as needed based on business demands and within the scope of ability.
Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or certification in CNC machine tool troubleshooting, repair, and installation.

At least 2 years of experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of machine tool products.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be able to legally operate a company or personal vehicle for business purposes. Personal vehicle use may be required until a company vehicle is assigned.

Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills; able to interact effectively with customers, team members, and vendors.

Demonstrated initiative with solid planning and organizational abilities.

Team-oriented with the ability to work across departments and divisions.

Proficient in using computers and job-related software for documentation and diagnostics.

Physically capable of performing job duties, including frequent bending, stooping, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs (heavier lifting with assistance).

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on customer needs.

Able to travel for training and customer support, including out-of-state and international travel. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

Must be able to acquire a major credit card (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) based on personal credit, for use in business-related travel and expenses.
