A metal additive manufacturing company is hiring an AM Applications Engineer to join the team.
You will play a pivotal role in driving sales and customer satisfaction through your expertise in metal AM technology, and, you will collaborate closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to develop cutting-edge AM solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize additive manufacturing technical knowledge to support sales activities
- Develop and share structured part manufacturing strategies
- Monitor print processes, analyze deviations, and identify improvement opportunities
- Serve as a power user of Magics build setup software; experience with other platforms (e.g., Netfabb, 3DXpert) is advantageous
- Demonstrate expert-level machine operation to print challenging part candidates
- Liaise with engineering teams to address customer-specific requirements
- Manage project timelines by coordinating additive manufacturing processes
- Conduct materials characteristics quality testing and print actual parts, reporting findings to the team
- Evaluate end-user test parts for additive manufacturing suitability and execute part printing on test systems
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays
Requirements:
- Strong technical background in metal additive manufacturing
- Hands-on experience operating additive manufacturing systems
- Proficiency in Magics build setup software; familiarity with other platforms is a plus
- Flexibility to travel as needed
